Preventing Breakouts
Baring more skin means that you will be worrying more about breakouts. Although salicylic acid is great as a spot treatment for existing problem areas, OROGOLD recommends using a product that contains glycolic acid. Most breakouts are caused by dead skin cells that are trapped in the pores by a glue-like substance, and glycolic acid helps to dissolve this, not only clearing current breakouts but also prevent new ones from occurring.

Cellulite
Cellulite is a common body issue, especially as we age. There are plenty of cellulite creams on the market, and although they won’t banish your cellulite for good, they can be effective at reducing the visibility of cellulite. The trick is to regularly massage them into your skin rather than briefly applying a layer, and this will help minimize those dimples.

Unwanted Body Hair
There are only a couple of methods for permanent hair removal, with laser being the most common. However, this takes a few sessions, and you will be required to stay out of the sun for a couple of days after each treatment, which is why it is usually best to do this in the winter. Laser hair removal is also quite costly, so, for a cheaper method, OROGOLD recommends sticking to waxing or shaving. The only downsides to these are that you will need to do it regularly, and take certain precautions to avoid problems such as razor burn and ingrown hairs. For more information, take a look at our OROGOLD article on how to avoid ingrown hairs.

Irritated woman with dry skin

Dry Skin and Small Bumps
If you have areas of your dry skin on your body, it is extremely important that you regularly exfoliate to remove any dead skin cells, as these build up on your skin and give you a dull, dry and rough complexion. They also clog up your pores, which then leads to breakouts, and stops your moisturizing products from properly penetrating the skin and working to their full effect. In addition to helping with dry skin, regular exfoliation will also help to prevent any unsightly bumps from forming, commonly referred to as chicken skin, as these are also caused by plugged pores.

Stretch Marks
Stretch marks are a common issue that can have many women feeling extremely self-conscious, but not able to fork over the big bucks to pay to have them professionally removed. If this is the case for you, OROGOLD recommends using a cotton swab to strategically apply a self tanning bronzing mousse over your light marks, and carefully blend them in.

When it comes to caring for your skin in the summer, always remember that a good self-tan can help to cover up many issues, from an uneven skin tone to the appearance of cellulite. When in the sun, always remember to regularly apply a broad spectrum sunscreen, and don’t forget about protecting your eyes and lips either!
